Here is the artist impression painting of the full area.

This is an overhead picture of the main building in 2021. The orange roof is a 2 storey building with a wheelchair accessible bedroom, hallway and bathroom on the ground floor. Two bedrooms and a WC upstairs with the larger room having a small balcony towards the bottom of the picture overlooking the neighbour's garden. The smaller room having the larger balcony which is the top left under the edg
This is the view from under the large tree looking up to the small room's balcony. The room to the left is the dining room and the room to the right is the kitchen. This area will be extended out to give a patio area the same size and both with seating, shade and pizza oven. Dining room with have period correct sofas, wood burning stove, tv and more.
Dining/living room in the doors to the left opening up to the decking
This is the view from the balcony to building 2. This will be the bridal room and more. Haven't finalised the plumbing plan so could be 1 large room and 2 small or might just make the whole thing the bridal building. External staircase for the wedding but an internal one also.
"The view in 2021" Under the oak tree looking away from the bridal building. The large tree was planted around the same time and the main building was constructed - 1887. At the moment there are 45 olive trees, 2 lime trees, grapes, walnuts and pomegranates. All fruit will be available for picking if ready on your stay.
This area will also hold a driveway, bell tents and shower/toilet block.
Aerial photo of the grounds. Main building bottom left, bridal room bottom right. You can see top left a building just out of the red section. This is a 100% genuine village restaurant run by the local village priest. No English but a lovely family and fair priced. We are planning to use this restaurant to supply you with the full Greek experience for your wedding dinner. Our driveway will pass th
Just returning to the tree, I think this would be an amazing spot for the ceremony itself, in the shade but with the atmosphere of the orchard and no blue tarp etc. There will be a small raised area but all paved from the tree to the bridal building.
update - tree had a haircut
2024 and 2025 will be a work in progress. We have a plan and a guide to what we have to do next and the costs involved. We have a project manager on Crete with the suppliers and builders ready to go when we are, with 3 visits ourselves planned for 2023. There is a clear plan for the venue but it will develop as we go.
Next step is the main building roof. The building hasn't been occupied since the 1990's and a few tiles and beams have caused damage to plaster and the top of the walls themselves. The decision was taken that the full roof will come off and be replaced with a brand new one. All parts will be saved and recycled somewhere else in the project. I will add to this paragraph as the work is completed.
We started in 1999 in the wedding business. It started with DJing. Spent 17 years working in almost all of the large venues in Scotland and a few in England and abroad. Also worked in a few clubs and festivals over the years. During this time I still worked full time. I came up with an idea of supplying lights for weddings and before I knew it we were supplying custom lights for indoor and outdoor and lots more besides. With prop rental and a mobile bar service also in the mix, we have become a very busy company. We have covered on average 150 weddings a year supplying just a little to almost everything on the day. If we can't make your event stress free then no one can.
day 1
So you are are fully in village life but there is a few important things around
There is lots of places worth a visit with a photographer, here is just one.
Full greek restaurant at your door
So as you can see we are at the early stages of our plans. Here is what I am aiming for in terms of the hire so you will understand what else will be needed. We will be trying to find you suppliers but that will be another list.
Your hire will be for 4 days. You will arrange your own flights from whichever airport you prefer to which ever airport here in Crete is the best deal. Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 and more fly from UK. Your hire will be flexible by 2 days in case you get a better deal on a Wednesday instead of a Monday for example on the flights. Maximum of 1 wedding a week so we can be flexible. There will also but an option to hire for the wedding only without staying.
Part of your hire will be the inclusion of a 16 seater minibus that will collect you from the airport or your hotel. After your 4 days with us the bus will pick you up again and take you to either the airport or on to a hotel for you to continue your holiday. There are some great hotels in Crete with some seaside ones only 30 mins away and around £50 b&b. All in the city of Rethymno which is our nearest. If you have more that 16, car rental is cheap or if you have no one who drives another bus can be supplied but at cost. The bus can also be rebooked to take you to the airport after your hotel trip once again at cost.
When you arrive you will be greeted by someone who will give you the tour. Once everyone is happy we will go but available on the phone 24 hours. There will be complimentary food and drinks on arrival. Day two will be get ready for the wedding. Tables and chairs etc will be provided for and you can set up any way you please. Day 3 is the wedding and day 4 is clean up and get ready to move on. A list of local suppliers will be available a year before we open.
Towels and bedding will be supplied. We can arrange a supermarket run for you ahead of your arrival. You can give us a list the week before and we will get it there when you arrive. Remember it's self catering so supplies are needed for most of the time. Full Kitchen and pizza oven are available. There is a bakery, supermarket and petrol station up the hill. Lidl is on the island so give us your list and it will be there. I'm planning to get the restaurant involved with your wedding dinner so watch this space. They could provide other dinners and meals and they also have their own dining areas. The wedding dinner will be in the price of the hire. Full Greek style but maybe a few British things in there for the kids etc. The restaurant is full Greek and local so if you're planning to join them for breakfast one day let them know in advance if you can. Google translate needed. UPDATE. I can confirm the restaurant can and will provide the wedding dinner for 24 guests which is included in your hire.
The beds were based on my own idea of numbers. 2 of the rooms are big enough to add single beds for kids. The bridal building may have more room but it may be one large and 2 small. 24 isn't a solid number but if you know it's going to be 30 people minimum, there is a b&b maybe quarter of a mile up the hill. Some people probably don't want to share and there may be no kids. We will do our best to accommodate. Let's be honest, there may be someone in your group you don't trust with a balcony or even stairs.
We don't speak Greek so we are taking our time with the locals in the village. We do have neighbours which are holiday homes for 2 older couples so we need to have a chat and keep them informed of your plans and keep them happy at the same time. There may have to be a quiet time set outdoors and limits to noise indoors but we have been known to have a party or two ourselves so we will figure that out. Anyone coming to us have to think of this more as a basic Greek village and not a hotel. The smaller building was part of a villa build in the 1700's. The village itself has the ruins of a church from the 7th century. Its been around for a long time and the locals probably like it that way.
UPDATE - we now have our first wedding booked for the last week in may 2025
